One of the best wildlife viewing spots in the entire world is the Black Point Wildlife drive on the Merritt Island National Wildlife refuge, just a few miles from the restaurant. These photos were taken by Joel Reynolds yesterday morning on Black Point.
Seems like the higher water levels in the mudflats this year has enticed large numbers of Pintails, Coots and American Wigeons.

For the past fifteen years the Brevard Youth Soccer League has been holding their Fall Challenge, pitting ambitious and passionate youth soccer teams against one. The weekend of October 8-9 will see the 16th annual Fall Challenge, and it promises to be one to remember. Close to 100 teams have been registered to compete for honor and glory. Of course, glory and honor are only a part of the equation.

Today marks the first day of the Florida Runners Invitational 12, a highly demanding competition for Cross Country runners around the state. This event, for lack of a better word, has been growing steadily in terms of competitors and spectators alike since it debuted in 2000. 2011 looks to be no different.
